Thai, Lao, and Cambodian (TLC) New Year Dinner Experience
The Convoy District team is excited to announce a special partnership with restaurants Mekong Cuisine Lao & Thai, Chaba Thai Kitchen, and PHOnomenal, bringing an enlightening Thai, Lao, and Cambodian (TLC) New Year dinner experience to the heart of the Convoy District. This collaboration aims to highlight the often overlooked Thai, Lao, and Cambodian New Year celebrations, occurring from April 13 to April 16. These neighboring countries share a rich Khmer cultural heritage, evident in their similar New Year festivities.
From April 15 to 16, guests are invited to embark on a culinary journey curated by Stella Bayphouthongkham, owner of Mekong Cuisine Lao & Thai, celebrating the rich traditions of Thai, Lao, and Cambodian cultures. Indulge in a specially crafted to-go dinner package for four, featuring authentic dishes like Nam Khao Tod, Isaan-Style beef laap, and "The House Special" Cambodian Pho from PHOnomenal, accompanied by a delightful Naam Vahn dessert.
Stella, a native of Paksane, Laos, seamlessly integrates the rich traditions of her Laotian heritage with San Diego's vibrant energy. At Mekong Lao & Thai Cuisine, she blends tradition with modern dining experiences, creating a culinary sanctuary where patrons can savor authentic Southeast Asian flavors amidst the cozy confines of the Convoy Asian Cultural District.
