The Medieval University and the Question of Education series will explore the medieval origins of our modern university system. It will examine the philosophical, theological and social issues which drove the development of the medieval university, with the aim of gaining greater awareness of the various purposes for which an education system is established and the various methods by which education is imparted. Coordinated by Holly Hamilton-Bleakley, PhD, director of the Medieval and Renaissance Studies Program and adjunct assistant professor of philosophy.
