A woman's right to choose remains popular in California. The latest Field Poll shows nearly two out three Californians support the state's abortion laws. KPBS Reporter Kenny Goldberg has the story.
Abortion rights are under attack in a number of other states. Just last week South Dakota approved a law criminalizing nearly all abortions.
But the latest Field Poll shows Californian remains solidly pro-choice.
Mark DiCamillo directs the Field Poll. He says there's been little change in the prevailing attitude over the past 20 years.
DiCamillo: "Throughout that entire period, between 64 percent and 75 percent of Californians have favored either no change to existing abortion laws, or would advocate making abortion easier to obtain."
The latest poll also reveals most Californians say the U.S. Supreme Court should not overturn Roe V. Wade.
