NATIONAL CITY, Calif. (AP) -- A regular patron of the Golden Acorn Casino who frequently rode a free shuttle service from National City to the gaming hall in Campo has been diagnosed with tuberculosis, according to county health officials.

People who used the shuttle more than eight times in May were advised Monday to get tested for the disease.

Public health officer Wilma Wooten said the county Department of Health and Human Services was working with the casino to notify people who may have been exposed.

The shuttle service makes the 40-mile trip to Campo in eastern San Diego County daily.

Symptoms of active tuberculosis include persistent cough, fever, night sweats and unexplained weight loss. Most people who are exposed to tuberculosis do not develop the disease.
