Neubrand : We are reaching out to those who were severely underinsured or uninsured to potentially rebuild either their home on their existing property or to put them into our projects that we have on the drawing boards.

She says those home projects are in El Cajon, Carlsbad and National City -- and those sites could be used as new homes for wildfire victims. Neubrand says discounted building materials are also available at the habitat's store.

Neubrand : Where they can purchase either gently used building materials or brand new donated building materials and will receive an additional 20 percent below our already reduced discount if they just bring in their FEMA card we will be more than happy to oblige them with an additional discount.

San Diego Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit group and rebuilt 21 homes for victims of the county's 2003 wildfires.
