BANNING, Calif. (AP) -- A wildfire burning near a Southern California Indian reservation continues to plow through century-old brush and dead trees in high, steep terrain.
The 3-square-mile blaze in the San Bernardino National Forest is 25 percent contained Tuesday.
The fire erupted Sunday on the Morongo Indian Reservation about 85 miles east of Los Angeles. It's burning in the San Gorgonio Wilderness and is far from any homes.
U.S. Forest Service spokesman Lee Beyer says the fire is moving slowly through century-old chaparral and dead trees.
About 1,000 firefighters and around 20 aircraft are fighting the blaze. Three firefighters have suffered minor injuries.
Meanwhile, a wildfire that destroyed 30 residences in northern Los Angeles County was fully contained on Monday.
The 47-square-mile blaze began on May 30 in the Lake Hughes area.
