A 26-year-old man who escaped from San Diego Central Jail was recaptured Wednesday night.
Don Andrea Torrillo was arrested in a room at a Motel 6 in El Cajon around 7:30 p.m., San Diego County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Chris Davis said.
Torrillo, who was in jail facing charges of drug possession for personal use and sale, now faces an escape charge as well, Davis said.
There was no updated information on how Torrillo was able to escape the jail.
Torrillo disappeared from the downtown jail around 6 p.m. Tuesday, according to the sheriff's department.
Torrillo was arrested in Santee on Friday on suspicion of possession of drugs for personal use and sale and of drug paraphernalia and being under the influence of drugs after a search warrant was served at a home in the 700 block of Singing Trails Drive, according to the sheriff's department.
