North County Still Has Almost Quarter Of Region's Homeless

The latest Point-in-Time-Count of homeless peopleshows North County’s share of the county’s homeless population remained steady at 23 percent of the region’s total.

The total number of homeless counted in North County fell from just over two thousand people to just under two thousand.

The number in North County coastal cities increased slightly, while the number in inland cities fell.

Most North County cities saw a decrease, though Carlsbad, Encinitas and Poway saw an increase.

More than half of those counted in North County were not living in shelters.
