Rep. Duncan Hunter's, R-Alpine, meeting Monday evening with Intermountain Republican Women Federated was unusual for the frankness of the incumbent candidate for Congress in the 50th District.

Covering topics from the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, to the desire of the Justice Department to bring down President Donald Trump, to the so-called "deep state," to the proper role of the federal government, Hunter did not hold back.

Earlier on Monday, Hunter and his wife, Margaret, were in court in downtown San Diego. The couple was indicted on charges they spent more than $250,000 in campaign funds on personal expenses. They are due back in court on Dec. 3.
