Best Coast Beer Fest Plans To Raise Money For Charity

Best Coast Beer Fest

The Best Coast Beer Fest will bring 72 breweries together Saturday for a festival that will raise money for charity.

The festival runs from noon to 9 p.m. at the Embarcadero Marina Park South, behind the San Diego Convention Center. The event will run rain or shine, and is open to only those over 21.

The festival isn’t only about drinking 72 different kinds of beer, said Beer Fest founder Amy Ulkutekin. It's also about raising money for Cancer for College, a charity that provides college scholarships for cancer survivors.

“I have amazing designers, great connections within the brewery world — it just made sense,” said Ulkutekin.

Best Coast Beer Fest organizers expect close to 5,000 attendees.
