California Governor Jerry Brown is downplaying Texas Governor Rick Perry’s effort to lure businesses to the Lone Star state.
Perry launched a 26-thousand dollar statewide radio ad campaign this week that says Texas has a more favorable business climate. Brown called the effort by Perry ‘a big nothing’ and scolded the media for giving too much attention to the story.
“If they want to get in the game, let them spend 25 million on radio and television, then I’ll take them seriously, but really it’s just silly,” Brown said.
The comments are the latest in a long-standing debate between the governors about which state is better for businesses. Brown made the remarks while visiting a UPS distribution center to celebrate the rollout of a fleet of all-electric vehicles.
