A Pacific Storm was expected to bring rain, snow and possibly thunderstorms to San Diego County today.
The National Weather Service said the wet weather would mainly occur tonight through Thursday, and rainfall amounts would be between a quarter and a half-inch from the mountains to the coast and less than a quarter of an inch in the deserts.
The snow level will fall to below 4,000 feet Thursday morning, with snowfall amounts of two to six inches possible above 4,000 feet, according to an NWS advisory.
Thunderstorms may develop late tonight and Thursday, along with brief heavier showers, hail and funnel clouds, the statement said, adding waterspouts were possible off the coast.
The storm was also expected to bring strong winds -- with gusts up to 50 mph -- to the mountains and deserts, mainly tonight and Thursday.
A wind advisory was scheduled to be in effect until 9 o'clock tonight in the mountains and deserts. Along the coast, a high surf advisory will be in force until 1 o'clock Saturday morning, according to the Weather Service.
