For the third straight day, San Diego County's coastal areas and western valleys were shrouded in fog Thursday morning, making the roadways more dangerous than normal for commuters.
The National Weather Service issued a dense fog advisory for coastal and valley areas until 9 a.m., saying visibility was at a quarter-mile or less in some parts.
The agency advised motorists to slow down, use their low beam headlights and leave plenty of distance between vehicles.
