The French parliament is expected to pass a bill on Thursday that has strained relations between France and Turkey. The proposed law would make it a crime to deny that Armenians suffered genocide at the hands of the Turks in 1915.
Turkey denies that any such genocide took place. Although the French government opposes the measure, the bill is expected to pass the lower house. It will then be debated by the senate.
