Pentagon's Iraq Options: Go Big, Go Long, Go Home

A secret study by the Pentagon allegedly presents three options for improving the situation in Iraq: "go big," "go long," or "go home."

The study was commissioned by Gen. Peter Pace, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and comes as political and military leaders struggle with how to conduct a war that is increasingly unpopular, both in the United States and in occupied Iraq.

The report concludes that the U.S. can either massively increase the number of troops in Iraq to bring order to the country, depart the country and leave it to its own devices or lower the number of troops while extending the amount of time the U.S. remains there.
