Morocco Makes Strides In Fight For Women And Peace

The north African country of Morroco is rarely the focus of U.S. media coverage, but its impressive record on increasing women's rights and fighting global terrorism is being noticed around the world. Because of the traditional Muslim country's progressive approach, Morocco is now a strong U.S. ally and a reliable U.N. partner.

Host Michel Martin discusses Morocco's strides with Mbarka Bouaida, the youngest member of Morocco's parliament and chairwoman of its Committee of Foreign Affairs, National Defense and Religious Affairs.
