The alleged killers of Orange County couple Jean and Scott Adam were in court today as a federal grand jury indicted them for their participation in the pirate attack. The Los Angeles Times reports that 13 men from Somalia and one from Yemen have been charged with piracy and kidnapping in connection with the case. The piracy charges carry an automatic life sentence.
Home Post blogged last month about the kidnapping and murder of the Adams, who spent the last eight years traveling around the world on their yacht, the Quest. Along with the Adams, a couple from Seattle called Phyllis Macay and Bob Riggle also lost their lives during the kidnapping. The U.S. military had been trailing the Quest and speaking with the pirates in an attempt to secure the victims' release.
The L.A. Times quotes Janice K. Fedarcyk of the F.B.I as saying:
Home Post will follow this court case until its conclusion.
