The National Transportation Safety Board has Tweeted that it is investigating the crash of an air tanker at Point Mugu Naval Air Base near my hometown of Ventura, California. The tanker skidded off the runway at Point Mugu yesterday afternoon - filled with jet fuel - and exploded, according to the Associated Press. All three civilian employees aboard the tanker were able to escape, but the BBC reports they suffered minor injuries in the crash.

Base spokesman Terry Reid told Los Angeles television station KNBC the tanker was a Boeing 707 filled with 150,000 pounds of jet fuel. As for the origin of the tanker:
