NPR's business news starts with New York going after the health insurance industry.
New York State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo he plans to sue on the nation's largest health insurers. He's also demanding information from more than a dozen other companies.
Cuomo is accusing the industry of manipulating data so that it can charge patients an unfairly high portion of the bills for out-of-network doctors. Cuomo says unfair calculations have cheated customers out of hundreds of millions of dollars. The company that he's targeting first is United Health, which says it stands by its reimbursement system.
