  • From the KPBS/Arts newsletter: Maybe I've been working in local arts for too long, but if you gave me two seconds to name whatever jazz trumpeters first came to mind, I'd say Miles Davis and Gilbert Castellanos, our own local icon. If you're anything like that, then this concert is made for you. Castellanos will perform at the Rady Shell with his band to celebrate Davis' "Kind of Blue," which was released 65 years ago to the date of this concert. 7:30 p.m., Aug. 17. $18-$70. —Julia Dixon Evans, KPBS From the organizers: Join Gilbert Castellanos and friends as they celebrate Miles Davis and his all-star band at The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park.
