Held in beautiful Balboa Park, this unique event features a new commission by Andres Martin: Thelma & Dolores, a rhapsodic tribute to maternal love. Other highlights include the charismatic Picnic Suite by Claude Bolling, a masterpiece that fuses classical elegance with playful jazz elements. Also featured are Claire Vazart’s Berbol Suite, a tribute to Claude Bolling, John Clayton’s Bach to Blues for solo bass, and Mountain Songs by Robert Beaser for flute and guitar. Bread & Salt, The Athenaeum, Mujeres Brewery, and CAMARADA unite to present a unique blending of art, chamber music, and community. Improv at the Brooks presents another fun evening of fast-paced improvised comedy with “Penguin Posse”. This highly interactive show features seasoned improvisers from American Improv Theatre and Irreverent Improv who use audience suggestions to create unforgettable characters and outrageous moments. The evening will feature a mix of fast-paced games and innovative long form scenes to give audiences side-splitting laughter from start to finish.
