These two experts will discuss the tumultuous relationship between the two iconic artists from Mexico, Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. Their passions and resentments, adoration and pain were sources of inspiration for the world premiere of El último sueño de Frida y Diego (The Last Dream of Frida and Diego). Rivera and Velasquez will connect themes and images from the new opera to Diego Rivera’s mural Un domingo en la Alameda and the Mexican celebration of Día de los Muertos. This is a free event. This film is a biography of painter Frida Kahlo, and her encounter with the personalities of her time.
