Noel Miller's biting one-liners & topical social commentary has made him a force to be reckoned with in the comedy world. Between directing, touring, podcasting, music and streaming, Noel's rise has been nothing short of meteoric. In addition to starring in popular YouTube series "That's Cringe," & comedy duo + podcast "Tiny Meat Gang" with fellow comedian Cody Ko, Noel has created successful series' on his own. His broad reach has landed him deals with SeatGeek & Old Spice, as well as solo comedy gigs across the country. He has found success as a filmmaker, being the creative mind behind "Tiny Meat Gang's" hit music videos. Outside of music, Noel recently released his first short film, Suki, a dark comedy about a relationship between a detective & a serial killer. Additionally, Noel has recently leaned into streaming, resulting in a rapidly growing Twitch following. He can be found racing on his driving simulator against pro Formula 1 drivers, or playing games such as Call of Duty: Warzone. Join Bach Collegium San Diego for J.S. Bach’s vivid musical account of Christ's passion, which combines a striking drama and devotion forming a pinnacle of the vocal works composed for the Leipzig churches. Bach's St. Matthew Passion was written for the Good Friday Vespers service of 1727 at the St Thomas' Church Leipzig and brings together relevant themes of betrayal, judgment, death, and love as expressed through St. Matthew's Gospel and Bach's librettist Picander. The Museum of Photographic Arts (MOPA) is hosting its 13th annual Human Rights Watch Film Festival from February 2 to 9. The Human Rights Watch Film Festival will feature critically acclaimed films on topics including child care and education, environmental protection, gender equity, trans and Indigenous rights, women’s rights and more. On February 9, MOPA and Human Rights Watch will feature a special Q&A with the filmmakers behind "Uýra" (2022) About the film: Uýra, a transgender Indigenous artist, travels through the Amazon on a journey of self-discovery using performance art to teach Indigenous youth that they are the guardians of ancestral messages of the Amazon Forest. In a country that kills an incredibly high number of transgender, Indigenous and environmentalist youth of any country , Uýra leads a rising movement while fostering unity and providing inspiration for the LGBTQIA+ and environmental movements in the heart of the Amazon Forest. This event will feature director Juliana Curi, producer Martina Sönksen and special guests.
