Benny has sold out his Bohemian ideals in exchange for a hefty income and is on the outs with his former friends. Mark, an aspiring filmmaker, feels like an outsider to life in general. How these young bohemians negotiate their dreams, loves and conflicts provides the narrative thread to this groundbreaking musical. Will 2022 be the year you finally write that novel you’ve been dreaming about? This eight-week online novel writing course will walk you through the process step by step. Each week, the focus will be on some technical aspect of novel writing — from premise to point of view, plot & structure to methods of characterization. In addition to the weekly lesson, there will be curated readings and assignments which you may post for instructor feedback. Additionally, in the last two weeks, you will be allowed to post up to 2000 words of your work-in-progress for critique. This is a flexible course, which you can “do” at your own pace, though ideally you will follow along week by week. There are no live sessions and no Zoom, so if you have to miss a week or two, the lesson will still be there waiting for you when you come back! San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria says he ordered city crews to clear a large homeless encampment in the city’s Midway district to avoid a potential health crisis. Then, a new state effort to retrofit thousands of houses in high-risk fire areas, offering up to $40,000 to cover the cost of the changes. And San Diego is the first county in the state to launch the program with 500 backcountry residences from Dulzura to Campo. And, after a long legal battle, thousands city workers will have access to guaranteed pension benefits. I love craft almost as much as I love the "subversive nature of craft," and this exhibition hones in on how both literal and figurative small actions can make an impact. Literal in that these works had to be small enough to fit in a USPS flat rate mailer, and figurative in that the societal concept of crafts is, in general, dismissive or reductive.
