Join Fox’s “Next Level Chef” co-star and Bravo’s “Top Chef All-Stars” winner Richard Blais and his wife, Jazmin for a one-night meet and greet event to celebrate the launch of the couple’s first collaborative cookbook “Plant Forward: 100 Bold Recipes for a Mostly Healthy Lifestyle.” Taking place at California English, Blais’ fine-casual restaurant showcasing cheeky cuisine inspired by the Southern California coast and English pub classics, on Wednesday, November 29 from 5:30pm to 7pm. Attendees of the event will receive a signed copy of the book along with the opportunity to meet Richard and Jazmin. This is Richard’s third cookbook and the first one he has done in collaboration with his wife, Jazmin. San Diego marks the final stop in Richard and Jazmin’s cookbook tour. Tickets can be purchased online for $49. “Plant Forward” offers a look inside the Blais’ kitchen showing how the couple eats and maintains healthy habits when the TV cameras are off. Richard and Jazmin team up to show you how to have fun with cooking, taking produce to an entirely new level without having to abandon meat or dairy entirely! Tis the season for jingling and barking all the way with the Gaslamp Quarter Holiday Pet Parade and Pups in the Pub Party on Saturday, December 17! This annual local favorite tradition highlights dogs, cats, and other pets as the Gaslamp “decks the paws” for a howl-y jolly good time. Attendees and their companions are encouraged to dress up in costume and compete for prizes and awards. The festivities commence at 1 p.m. as the parade takes off under the Quarter Archway and through the Gaslamp Quarter. After the parade, participants will reconvene for the costume contest where panel of judges will announce award winners for “Best Christmas Spirit”, “Best Matching Costumes”, and “Best in Show” among others. After the parade, guests are invited to attend the second annual Pups in the Pub Party from 2 p.m. through. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy local craft beer, complimentary goody bags, live music, boutique shopping, games for pups & people, photo ops, and more! Location of Pups at the Pub Party will be announced shortly! Furry, scaly and feathered family members alike are welcome to jingle all the way through the Gaslamp Quarter in their best festive costumes to ring in the holiday season. The Del Mar Village Association and Del Mar Plaza are hosting a Winter Taste & Sip as part of a North Pole by the Sea holiday celebration. The Taste & Sip event will take place on December 3rd from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. A holiday tree lighting ceremony will follow at 5:00 p.m. Stroll the festively decorated streets of Del Mar while enjoying culinary creations from award-winning Del Mar Village restaurants, sips from local beverage partners at “Sip Stops” inside downtown Del Mar businesses, dance with the Grinch, listen to live music and get photos with Santa, and enjoy other holiday happenings as part of the North Pole by the Sea family-friendly festivities. The cost for admission is $50. Taste only tickets are available for $40 for those under 21 years old or who do not plan to enjoy the Sip Stop beverages.
