Exclusive Collections Gallery (EC Gallery), a contemporary art gallery featuring a variety of original sculptures, paintings and mixed media pieces, announces their first ever Native American art show “This is Indian Country,” April 8 - 10, 2022. The Villalobos Brothers have been acclaimed as one of today’s leading contemporary Mexican ensembles. The ensemble’s virtuosic performances delivered with brilliance, combined with a message of love, brotherhood, and social justice, have delighted audiences around the world. Disney’s "Beauty and the Beast, Jr." tells the story of Belle, a beautiful and intelligent young woman who feels out of place in her provincial French village. When her father is imprisoned in a mysterious castle, Belle’s attempt to rescue him leads to her capture by a Beast who was long ago trapped in his gruesome form by an enchantress. The only way for the Beast to become human once again is if he learns to love and be loved in return. There is a time limit, too: once a magical rose loses all of its petals, all hope will be lost and he will stay a Beast forever. The Beast’s enchanted household--populated by such beloved characters as Mrs. Potts, Lumiere, Cogsworth, and Chip--watch anxiously as Belle and the Beast grow to understand and befriend one another. Their feelings grow ever deeper as the clock ticks and petals continue to fall off the enchanted rose. But will they confess their love for one another before it is too late?

With the promise of economic renewal, this film follows the lives of the area's loyal aging population and its stymied youth. Pictured against immense, isolating landscapes, the people await their plant and with it, the nation's possible first step towards sovereignty.

In collaboration with San Diego New Music and the Athenaeum Music and Arts Library, percussionist and composer Nathan Hubbard presents his curated concert, "Mix and Match," which was originally scheduled for two years ago in March, 2020 — just before the pandemic forced performance cancellations. The project features an ensemble with Nathan Hubbard on vibraphone, Nicole Shue on violin, Sharon Taylor on cello, Ariana Warren on woodwinds and Anne Whattoff on vocals. Whatoff will perform on a set of "art songs," using lyrics by the late poet Dorothea Grossman.
