  • The San Diego Legion is on the road again, this time to take on the Utah Warriors on Friday, April 1 at 7 p.m. for Round 9 of the Major League Rugby 2022 season.   • Celebrate Earth Day by joining us in our habitat restoration project in San Elijo Lagoon Ecological Reserve. Your help is needed as we restore 38 acres of coastal sage scrub habitat, home to a federally endangered bird, the California Gnatcatcher. Get ready for hands-on fun in the soil! You can help restoration team members remove invasive species. That will help the newly planted seedlings local to the area, including California buckwheat, spiny redberry, bush monkeyflower, and indigenous grasses that provide nectar, pollen, and seeds for hungry butterflies, insects, birds, and other animals. Lindsay, at 10:30 a.m., May 21, in the Neil Morgan Auditorium of San Diego Central Library, 330 Park Blvd., San Diego. What makes a restaurant memorable, even years after it’s gone? Is it the location, food, the people, or the good times you had there? Join author Martin Lindsay as he takes us on a visual tour of some of the keepers — San Diego’s loved (and not so loved) long-lost restaurants. Martin S. Lindsay, AIGA, is an art director, author, and currently serves as board chair of Culinary Historians of San Diego. He blogs about food and history at ClassicSanDiego.com, and is author of “Ninety Years of Classic San Diego Tiki,” and has contributed to Tim Ferris’ bestseller “The 4-Hour Chef.” Martin has over 40 years experience in branding and design. His design firm serves the San Diego arts community, foodservice and restaurant industries. And, Martin has just been awarded the 2022 People in Preservation Award for Cultural Preservation from SOHO (Save Our Heritage Organization). The event is free and open to the public.
