In this 2.5-hour introductory workshop, students are provided with a wooden spoon blank to power carve. The instructor will cover safety, basic carving techniques, and spoon design fundamentals. Functional and decorative spoons are fun to use and display! The instructor will share her tips on achieving beautiful curves within a design. This workshop is designed to teach you how to safely craft your own spoon through power carving. Material fee: $5 payable to the instructor at the start of the workshop. This is an introductory workshop in Power Carving. Another intro class offered is Intro to Power Carving | Sculptural Art. San Diego’s signature celebration of sound and soul is back with grace, groove, and timeless class as the Sunset Finale of the 14th Annual Jazz At The Creek returns Labor Day Weekend - Saturday and Sunday, August 30 - 31, for two unforgettable days of live music, elegance, and unity within the community at a new location: The Educational Cultural Complex South Lawn in the heart Southeast San Diego 4343 Ocean View Blvd., San Diego, CA, 92113. This annual festival continues its legacy of showcasing some of the finest national and local talent in jazz, soul, and gospel, while creating a space where mature audiences can relax, connect, and enjoy world-class performances in an elevated outdoor setting. This year’s lineup brings a mix of smooth, funky, and uplifting sounds, headlined by legendary saxophonist Gerald Albright, whose performance is a masterclass in musicianship and style. The 13th annual Ramona Art, Wine & Music Festival is returning to Begent Ranch in Ramona, Calif., on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025. One of San Diego County’s most popular festivals, we will have over 50 booths featuring artists, artisans, wineries, and craft beverage makers, with live music all day long! The primary fundraiser at the festival is our famous live auction, featuring wine barrels and furniture embellished by local artists. "Best Worst Advice" is a bold, hilarious and deeply human experimental dance-theatre show created by rebellious women choreographers Anne Gehman, Emily Aust, and Erin Tracy who met and started making work together over a decade ago. Now in their 40s they’ve reunited, blending decades of performance experience, life lessons, and embodied wisdom into a show that literally moves with meaning. The Operators are the world’s first dancing advice-columnists who are radically celebrating bodily autonomy while offering antidotes to overwhelm, and the endless scroll of questionable internet wisdom. It’s intimate, absurd, and fiercely relatable. Tired? Yes. Retired? Not even close. "Best Worst Advice" runs approximately 50 minutes and is appropriate for audience members who are 16 and over.
