Mavericks Beach Club is throwing it all the way back with a full night of iconic throwback jams from Britney and Beyoncé, to Usher and MORE spinning all night. This event is 21+, must present valid ID. No pets. The event is free entry with RSVP until 10:30 p.m. RSVPs do not guarantee entry.   • The San Diego County Farm Bureau is excited to announce the return of Farm Tour Day, taking place June 28 at 9 a.m. This year's event offers a behind-the-scenes look at a diverse array of local farms in Escondido, showcasing the heart of San Diego agriculture. Participants will enjoy guided walking tours led by the farmers themselves, sharing their expertise and passion for growing everything from mushrooms, succulents and cacti to citrus and avocados. Tours will be happening every half hour. As a bonus, end the day on a sparkling note with a complimentary glass of sparkling wine with any tasting purchase at a local winery. Join us in celebrating the farmers who feed our community and provide them with beautiful plants - support local agriculture, learn something new, and delight in the fruits of our region.   • Explore ceramic handbuilding & funky glazes! Tuesdays, July 22, 29, August 5, 12, 26 From 6 p.m. - 8:30 p.m., with the last class of the series from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. Select a date from the drop-down menu. In this 5-week series, students will learn the basics of handbuilding to create functional pieces with an emphasis on decorative techniques. Working with mid fire clay, we will explore various methods of building forms and decorative techniques with underglazes, slips, glaze, and various experimental materials. Students will complete multiple projects throughout the course with an artistic and creative approach to decorative designs. Inspired by printmaking, painting and drawing, we will explore image transfers, mark making, layering, stencils, and more! Through the use of technique and materials, students will explore the fusion of 2D art and 3D form. Students will be able to utilize a wide array of glazes and colors through the course. The instructor will have a wide array of custom decorative materials for use and sale. All materials provided. Additional materials available via the instructor for a fee. Mondays, July 21, 28, August 4, 11, 25 From 6 p.m. - 8:30 p.m., with the last class of the series from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. In this 5-week class, instructor Lydia Kardos will teach the basics of handbuilding to create functional and sculptural ceramics. Working with mid fire clay, we will explore various methods of building forms and decorative techniques with glazes. Students will complete various projects throughout the course, learning the basics of clay materials and handbuilding — skills necessary to work independently in open studio. Students will be able to utilize a wide array of glazes and colors. All materials provided.
