This two-day demonstration, led by renowned glass artist James Stone of Stone & Glass, will showcase the precision, artistry, and transformative beauty of molten glass in motion. As part of Arts, Culture, and Creativity Month, this event is more than just a demonstration—it’s a celebration of community, accessibility, and artistic exploration. Guests will have the opportunity to engage with six talented glass artists, including 55Acre Project, each displaying and selling their handcrafted works. This interactive experience provides a rare glimpse into an ancient art form while fostering a deeper appreciation for creativity in all its forms. Hot Glass, Cold Beer: A Fundraiser for the Arts In the spirit of community support and cultural engagement, we are excited to host “Hot Glass, Cold Beer,” a special fundraising initiative benefiting the CCAE Foundation. James Stone and participating artists will generously donate hand-blown glass cups, which will be given away with a complimentary drink ticket in exchange for a $25 donation.   • Saps at Sea, the San Diego Laurel and Hardy group, presents: Ollie Feigns Illness to Attend Lodge Events! Interestingly, we will show one of The Boys' best films, and one of their worst. Both feature women wielding shotguns. Come and see! Saturday April 5 from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. (Doors open 4:30 p.m.) at First Lutheran Church of El Cajon, 867 S Lincoln Ave, El Cajon, CA 92020 Admission is $10 and includes refreshments. Kids 12 and under are free! Films include “Be Big!” (1931). Ollie pretends to be sick so he and Stan can get out of a trip with their wives and go to a lodge party instead... We'll also show “Sons of the Desert” (1933). Once again, Ollie feigns illness. He and Stan tell the wives they are taking a cruise to Hawaii for Ollie to recover, but instead they go to Chicago for the Sons of the Desert convention! Plus we'll celebrate the birthday of San Diego High School alumni Harold Lloyd (April 20, 1893) with “High and Dizzy” (1920).
