  • TERI (Training, Education & Resource Institute) offers its one-of-a-kind Special Needs Life Quality Coach (SNLQC) Certification Course twice in 2026. TERI’s 16-week, fully online sessions are designed to help improve family quality of life by preparing people to support individuals with special needs and their families across daily life, school or program transitions, and long-term goal setting and planning. The TERI SNLQC certification is the only program focused specifically on quality-of-life coaching for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and the only course developed by a nonprofit organization that actively serves individuals with disabilities across their lifespan. TERI operates a range of innovative programs, including schools, adult day enrichment opportunities, 24/7 residential housing, respite care, family services, and more. “Families are often navigating education, housing, and support systems at the same time,” said Dr. Krysti DeZonia, Ed.D., BCBA-D, who created the program. “This course is grounded in real-world experience and is designed to give coaches practical tools to support individuals and families in meaningful ways.” Course participants are trained for professional and personal skill building. Graduates receive a comprehensive resource guide tailored to the city where they plan to coach or live with their loved one with special needs, along with tools, forms, and access to a network of coaches and experts. TERI began offering course certification in special needs life quality coaching in 2009. To date, the nonprofit has certified more than 240 coaches across the United States and in eight countries.
