  • Create a one-of-a-kind collage that celebrates your loved one and gently helps you envision the year ahead within a caring community. Guided by Lolly Beck-Pancer, Grief Counselor with The Elizabeth Hospice, this workshop will take place on Saturday, January 3, from 1–2:30 PM at Expressive Arts @ 32nd & Thorn in North Park. During this compassionate gathering, we will honor our grief and loss while also looking toward the future, discovering how creativity can nurture healing and hope. This workshop is free of charge, open to everyone, and can be taken on its own or as part of the full Without Words series on the first Saturday of every month. Together we’ll craft meaningful intentions that honor our past while opening space for what’s to come. RSVP: community@ehospice.org
  • A comedic one-woman show about anger, grief, Apollo 11, and the importance of baked goods… Something is not quite right with Donna: She’s a loving mother, a devoted wife, and a minor celebrity to all the bake sale planners in town–but something is making her spacey, and she’s not sure what it is. Therapy is out of the question–and church isn’t the place to share one’s distress. Donna will need to pass through space and through time–all the while listening to an unlikely voice–and try to break free from her gravitational pull to learn just how she can land. August draws a tender dimensional portrait of a woman whose trauma is so relatable, whose heart is so big, and whose intentions are so earnest, we are rooting for her to take that one brave step, even before we know why. Sensory Friendly Performance: Saturday, February 7, 2026 - 2 p.m. Scripps Ranch Theatre on Facebook
  • For designers, creatives, and the general public interested in natural color in textiles and its possible modifications. Learn from the experts! This class is led by Mildred and Sama Barrios, who run a Mexico-based natural color studio called SUULA. In this hands-on workshop, participants will be introduced to the fundamentals of modifying natural color. In the realm of natural dyeing, modifiers involve the partial or total application of substances such as vinegar, iron oxide, and baking soda, among others, to fabric dyed with natural dyes. This process alters the tone of the dye, allowing for a wider variety of colors or the creation of patterns and designs on the fabric. Some dyes react more strongly than others to these modifiers. During the workshop, participants will experiment with pre-dyed fabric samples to explore the technique. Visit: https://vmota.org/ Visions Museum of Textile Art on Instagram
