“An t-adh dearg” in Irish, or “the red luck,” is a way of saying you have struck a good thing. An acoustic string trio with roots in Irish and American traditional music, Red Luck formed in good fortune in 2022. With Devon Gardner on fiddle, Moriah Ozberkmen on mandolin, and Ian Alistair on guitar, the band is based in Boston. They can be heard playing energetic arrangements of traditional and original tunes. The trio is bound by a shared love of fiddle tunes and song repertoires from old time, bluegrass, and Irish traditional music. They explore modern arrangements and the continuation of traditional music as a fresh and contemporary medium. The Braille Institute San Diego invites students and the community to participate in a special White Cane Awareness Day Walk in our Courtyard. Attendees will learn and explore white cane safety, low-sight navigation, and fall prevention tips. The program includes resource tables, live music, and community partners. Community partners in attendance include the National Federation of the Blind (NFB), San Diego Center for the Blind, Guide Dogs for the Blind, and GiftedBack. Braille Institute is a nonprofit providing free programs and services to people with vision loss since 1919. Our programs reach more than 25,000 visually impaired people across seven centers.
