Located above the Flower Fields, ArtWalk Carlsbad is back for its 6th year, bringing fine art, live music, and interactive art experiences, offered free to attendees. In a venue overlooking the ocean, guests can explore different facets of art, while enjoying beautiful coastal views. The weekend-long festival focuses on fine art for sale by local artists, as well as those who travel from all over the U.S. and Mexico to show and sell their work. The event will display every medium of art, including painting, sculpture, glass work, fine jewelry, photography and more. More than 150 fine artists’ work will be featured, along with interactive art for families at KidsWalk, a full palette of musical performers, food trucks and stands, and more. The event will be fenced, even though admission is free; the fence allows attendees to enjoy beer and wine (to those 21-years and over), while strolling around the event, rather than having to remain in a Beer Garden. New this year, there will be a pavilion, sponsored by Wilsey Asset Management, to offer shade for the warm early fall weekend. It will be located in the middle of the event, adjacent to the Beer Garden and midway music stage, providing some additional seating. Join us in Encinitas for even more ways to interact with contemporary art! Weekly Wellness Saturdays at ICA San Diego / North expands on our 2025-2026 exhibition season theme, "On Healing." The exhibitions are part of a year-long exploration of the ways artists address the various socio-cultural wounds revealed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Similarly, the associated programs and events seek to explore how art can serve as a vital tool for mental, physical, emotional, and community wellbeing. Weekly Wellness Saturdays will take place most Saturdays throughout the year during ICA San Diego’s open hours (Noon – 5 p.m.), and includes: 1–2 p.m.: A rotating healing session hosted by a local facilitator 2:15–3:15 p.m.: A complimentary tour of the current exhibition in its Lower and Upper Pavilions, the outdoor garden, and Sculpture Trail 3:30–4:30 p.m.: A rotating healing session hosted by a local facilitator 12–5 p.m.: An all ages art-making activity related to this year’s "On Healing" season 12–5 p.m.: Complimentary admission to ICA / North’s exhibitions Admission to Weekly Wellness Saturdays at ICA / North is free, and a donation will be suggested for healing activities, and made directly to the facilitator. September 6: 1 p.m.: Breathwork with Suzanne Lederer — This practice helps you connect with the deeper layers of your mind and body, allowing you to bring awareness to and process emotions, stories, and even trauma that may have been stored or hidden in the body. We’ll start by creating personal affirmations – positive statements that shift how you feel about yourself and reinforce your inner strength. Through guided meditation, you’ll practice and embed these affirmations, turning them into powerful tools for daily use. After building your affirmation practice, you’ll relax in the garden as crystal singing bowls, chimes, and rainstick create healing vibrations around you. Hope’s distinct approach expands Southern California painting traditions that invite us to interpret silent stories, and contemplate the visual whispers of time, place, and the increasing vulnerability of coastal regions.

This class meets weekly on Mondays, 3-4 times each month, from 4 – 5:30 p.m. Ages 13+ welcome! Instructor-artist Lydia Kardos teaches this introductory ceramic handbuilding course for Teens. This month-long series is full of hands-on, hand building techniques in clay. Students will create functional and non-functional ceramic art. They’ll learn how to create with coils, slab construction and clay pinching methods. See the beauty of the final results as your pieces come out of the kiln. Students will create multiple pieces and learn how to glaze finished artwork. All materials included. Projects are changed regularly, so students can return month after month to continue to develop their skills! Drop-ins are welcome! Is your teen curious about taking this class?
