Cardiff Dog Days of Summer also features an array of dog contests, live music, food trucks, a libation lounge, and pawsome opportunity drawings! Looking for a furry friend? Presented by Rancho Coastal Humane Society, "Rescue Row" hosts several rescue groups with adoptable pups. The City of Encinitas’ "Pet Health Expo" will offer essential pet services including microchipping, and more, thanks to the San Diego Humane Society. And if your pup loves their moment in the spotlight, enter one of the 8 dog contests - plus an additional Dog Ice Cream eating contest - for a chance to take home a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place prize! Categories include Cutest Puppy, Best Dressed, and Silver Face. First-place winners will receive a gift basket filled with dog food, toys, and treats. The Sip features many of Julian’s alcoholic beverage purveyors. Proof that we’re not just about apples and great pie, we have growers and producers of wine, craft beer,, craft cocktails, and delicious hard cider, offering up a sampling of their delicious hand-crafted specialties. As in previous years, the event runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and gives tasters time to enjoy their samples paired with small bites at each venue, take in the scenery, and spend a relaxing day enjoying the sights and sounds of Julian. Ticket holders enjoy a self-guided day throughout Julian to visit the various participating locations. “Summer is a beautiful time in Julian and this event allows you to sample the region’s fine crafted beverages, taste gourmet bites, and explore the backcountry.” “It’s a perfect excuse to book a quaint room and make it a weekend adventure!” Attendees will receive a commemorative glass and wine tote. While Punch Bowl Social is renowned as a place for great cocktails, great food and a great time, for the July 4th weekend they have added a weekend full of specials and fun. All day on Independence Day and through Sunday, July 7, Punch Bowl Social will offer $24 Build Your Own Buckets. Guests can mix and match six of their favorites, including an array of American brands, including High Noon seltzers, Voodoo Ranger hard iced tea, Bud Light or Michelob Ultra. Bowling is one of the most popular pastimes in the U.S., so its only right that Punch Bowl Social will roll out new lower prices on their popular bowling lanes in conjunction with the July 4 holiday. Lanes will be $20 any time per hour per person, including shoe rental. On Friday and Saturday evenings after 6 p.m., that price is $25 per person, per hour.
