Natalie Baszile is the author of the novel, "Queen Sugar," which was adapted for seven television seasons and nominated for an NAACP Image Award. She has a M.A. in Afro-American Studies from UCLA, and an MFA from Warren Wilson College's MFA Program for Writers. Join us as we discuss Natalie Baszile's new non-fiction book, "We are Each Other's Harvest: Celebrating African American Farmers, Land & Legacy," where Natalie brings together essays, poems, conversations, portraits, and first-person narratives to tell the story of Black people's connection to the land from Emancipation to the present.   • Liberty Station, in partnership with The Chabads of Downtown San Diego and Pacific Beach, will host a public menorah lighting at Liberty Station’s Central Promenade to commemorate Hanukkah on Sunday, December 14 at 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. in Central Promenade next to the Rady Children’s Ice Rink. The magical, family-friendly festivity will include entertainment, packaged treats, and the traditional lighting of the menorah. Following the celebration of Hanukkah, the menorah will stay outdoors on display in Central Promenade, lighting up each night of Hanukkah.
