We will (briefly) touch on some of the contemporary brain science that helps us understand why Spolin’s work is so helpful in regulating our nervous systems, and find ways to take her playful methods into our everyday life when we find ourselves under pressure. Harvest fresh loofah & learn to make soap! August 18, 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. During this highly interactive workshop, students will be encouraged to explore their artistic abilities as well as embrace one another’s creativity through positive interaction while handcrafting their very own batch of melt & pour soap. Areas of focus include soapmaking safety, recipe formulation, crafting with fragrances, colorants and embeds, molding, curing, labeling, packaging and gift design. Upon completion of this workshop, students will walk away with a basic understanding of how to craft their own batch of melt & pour soap at home.
