  • The central character in Definitely, Maybe, Will Hayes, knows a little something about advertising himself. He works at an ad agency and is currently trying to figure out how to pitch the latest cereal to kids. He’s also trying to figure out how he got stuck in this job when he began his career trajectory as an idealistic volunteer for Bill Clinton's presidential campaign in 1992. He also can’t quite figure out how his marriage went sour. Forcing him to put all this into perspective is his precocious (is there any other kind of kid in Hollywood these days?) eleven-year-old daughter Maya.
  • The Darfur conflict may be coming closer to an end following the United Nations Security Council's unanimous decision to deploy a 26,000-strong peacekeeping force to Sudan's troubled region. Assistant Secretary of State Jendayi Frazer talks about the recent developments.
  • But Cody says that it's a tough issue: You're kind of damned if you do and damned if you don't in that regard. Particularly this year when there's this glut of pregnant movies. If you don't address the topic of abortion then you're being avoidant, if you do address it you have a short film. • Bolivia's President Evo Morales has nationalized the country's natural-gas industry. Foreign energy companies have six months to agree to new contracts for operating in the country. Some analysts say Morales may have miscalculated their willingness to remain in Bolivia.
  • But the controversy over Carter's book began with just its title, and it may have stirred more controversy than even the soft-spoken man from plains had anticipated. Demme almost makes a running gag of the fact that the first question Carter is inevitably asked is why such a provocative title? Fresh Air's Terry Gross suggests a tamer title, but Carter insists that he did want it to be provocative. But the problem is that some people seem unable to get past the title to read the book and allow Carter to make his case. &
  • The first thing to go wrong at the funeral that Daniel (Matthew MacFadyen) has been tasked with overseeing is that the wrong body has been delivered. A stranger rather than his father arrives and must be quickly sent back. Then there's Daniel's mum (a still lovely Jane Asher) who's barely maintaining an even keel through her sorrow; his self-absorbed and highly successful brother (Rupert Graves); his rebellious sister (Daisy Donovan); and a mysterious little man (Peter Dinklage) who wants to reveal something about Daniel's father. And just to add a little excitement to the proceedings, sis' boyfriend (Alan Tudyk) was accidentally given a few hallucinogenic drugs that have prompted him to strip down and go au natural at the ceremony, which must strain more and more to maintain the smallest shred of dignity.
