During our Chocolate Making Classes you will learn, create, eat and laugh! We offer chocolate making classes for adults and children 5 years and older*. Our hands-on chocolate making classes are about 1 ½- 2 hours long and limited to 12 students (or 12 child/ parent teams). There you will learn the basics of working with chocolate, create your own bark, molded chocolates and more. During class, students will play with favorite flavors like salted caramel and peanut butter cup and select monthly themed flavors made by chocolatier Michelle Lomelin. Students will also select from more than two dozen ingredients as they personalize a chocolate bark – with favorite flavors including freeze dried fruits and savory pretzels, potato chips and a wide selection of nuts. Plus, you will get to keep all your creations! Our chocolate making classes are offered one Saturday a month and each month has its own theme. June is the height of berry season and we are showcasing them at their peak! For molded chocolates we will be using strawberry lemonade ganache and brambleberry caramel. For barks we will be using freeze dried blueberries, raspberries and strawberries. We will even dip fresh strawberries! Inspired by family documents discovered after her mother’s passing in 2017, the memoir delves into her great-grandfather’s journal detailing the German advance in Le Grand Est (Alsace/Lorraine) in 1940, and her great-grandmother’s notebooks containing 65 heirloom recipes. The story unfolds in Nancy and "Châlons-en-Champagne," blending the cuisine bourgeoise of her Ashkenazi ancestors with poignant family history. Kitty’s maternal great-grandmother, Blanche Lévy-Neymarck, perished in Auschwitz, leaving a legacy of resilience, memory, and culinary artistry. Along with our friends at Meet Cute Romance Bookshop, Library Shop SD is hosting actress, comic, and content creator Dylan Mulvaney at the Neil Morgan Auditorium, San Diego Central Library @ Joan Λ Irwin Jacobs Common to celebrate the release of Paper Doll: Notes from a Late Bloomer! We’ll begin the evening with a conversation with Dylan followed by a photo line. This is a ticketed event.
