  • Walk with Us to Cure Lupus is the Lupus Research Alliance’s signature national fundraising program devoted to finding a cure for lupus. All are welcome. No limits. No tickets required. Registration is recommended. This event will include inspiring speakers, light grab & go refreshments during the walk, a t-shirt contest, and a variety of activity booths. Free to participate in this event, but donations are appreciated. 100% of all donations go directly to lupus research programs. Lupus is a chronic and complex autoimmune disease that affects millions of people worldwide. More than 90 percent of people with lupus are women, and lupus disproportionately affects women of color. In lupus, the immune system, which is designed to protect against infection, creates antibodies that can attack any part of the body including the kidneys, brain, heart, lungs, blood, skin, and joints.   • Shelter to Soldier is excited to announce its Inaugural Salute to Paws 5K and Gratitude Festival for Dogs on Saturday, November 16, at Naval Training Center (NTC) Park in Liberty Station (2455 Cushing Rd, San Diego, CA 92106). This fun-filled event aims to raise funds for Shelter to Soldier’s life-changing programs, which rescue dogs from local shelters and train them to become service animals for post-9/11 veterans suffering from PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injury, Military Sexual Trauma, and other injuries associated with traumatic service experiences. Join Shelter to Soldier in their mission of “Saving Lives, Two at a Time,” with a morning of fitness, gratitude, and family fun, with or without your four-legged family members. Registration opens at 7:30 a.m., followed by an all-levels yoga flow at 8 a.m. and 5K launch at 9 am. After your run, stay for the Gratitude Festival for Dogs to give your pup a “high paw” and a special thank you. The Inaugural Gratitude Festival for Dogs is a can’t miss event for dog lovers, celebrating the beauty and unconditional love they bring to your world. The festival will feature live music, a beer and mimosa garden, vendors in the pet space, and special activities to express gratitude to your canine best friend for the joy they bring to your world. Visitors will also be able to meet and greet with adoptable dogs from Labs & More Rescue on “Rescue Row”, for those looking to add a faithful companion to their family.   • In the spirit of Italian Heritage Month, Bella Vita Fest celebrates Italian culture with chalk art, Italian music and wine, all in the heart of San Diego’s Little Italy. More than 30+ expert chalk artists, depicting Italian themes, will line the streets of Little Italy, with live Italian music, Italian wine tasting, Italian merchants and Italian food for purchase. Plus, more than 20 Italian winemakers from 10-plus regions of Italy will be offering tastings, via Vicolo del Vino.
