  • Imperial Beach Sun & Sea Festival Returns August 17 -- One of San Diego County’s largest festivals held annually on the sand at Portwood Pier Plaza is back this year featuring a gigantic monument castle, a street fair, live entertainment, and the Kids-n-Kastles competition for ages 12 and under will compete, sponsored by the Imperial Beach/South Bay Kiwanis. There will not be the traditional master's sandcastle competition but with the perfect location and ideal weather, it's a great day trip.
