On July 18th, Join Mindy Donner as she presents, Stories of Strength and Resilience in the Bamboo Garden. The stories share lessons about strength in the face of adversity and the sustainability of cultures over time. You will meet young and old heroes as Mindy skillfully performs multiple characters that include dragons, villains, royalty, and seemingly ordinary folks in her one-woman performance. This outdoor performance takes place in the Bamboo Garden. Please allow yourself 20 minutes from the parking lot to arrive at the Bamboo Garden. A limited shuttle will take attendees up to the venue. Kicking off Summer Nights on July 11th, join Hullabaloo as they perform their top hits at the Gazebo. Beloved by kids and adults of all ages, enjoy one of San Diego’s most popular kid-friendly bands playing their foot-stomping, wing-flapping, free-range, organic kid folk music. This concert takes place on the Gazebo Lawn. Concert check-in will begin at 5:15 p.m. Please allow yourself 15 minutes from the parking lot to walk up to the Lawn and get settled. Please bring a blanket or towel to sit on. For guest safety, folding chairs are not allowed unless needed for ADA accommodation. St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center will host its 46th Annual Haute with Heart Fashion Show, with the theme “Couture,” paying homage to one of the fashion capitals of the world, Paris. Inspired by a piece from artist and SMSC student Mark Rimland, guests will be taking a day trip to the City of Love. Attendees will be greeted by live Parisian inspired music, fabulous boutique shopping, a silent auction, and free flowing champagne. Once the ballroom doors open, all messieurs and madames will enjoy a delicious Parisian inspired luncheon, special up-lifting performances by SMSC students, live auction, and a one-of-a-kind fashion show produced by the talented Kristi Brooks, who has worked with top designers and styled celebrities around the globe. SMSC is a nonprofit organization that serves individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. All funds raised will benefit the organization's nationally recognized innovative programs, where they combine the culture of care and creativity within quality programs to provide liberal arts education, practical skills development, employment, and dignity for a lifetime. SMSC allows students to develop creative outlets, learn marketable skills, and gain a sense of independence and self-esteem. Over 400 students attend SMSC, ranging from recent high school graduates to seniors in their eighties. About Danielle Angeloni Danielle has been singing before she could talk and dancing before she could walk. She writes jazz/pop/soul music reminiscent of artists such as Norah Jones, Emily King, and Lianne la Havas. Coming from a musical family, she’s also heavily influenced by many different styles including jazz, Motown, psychedelic rock, and alternative genres. When she isn’t writing, performing, or concert hopping Danielle works as a board-certified music therapist serving children with neurodevelopmental differences. Danielle received a scholarship to study vocal performance, songwriting, and music therapy at Berklee College of Music where she graduated cum laude in 2015.
