  • This one-night-only event, “A Spectrum of… Place,” will feature the winning selections from Getty's statewide teen photography exhibition, “Getty Unshuttered Open Call” alongside select and winning works from OTL’s San Diego-based “Voice Out: A Youth Media Arts Exhibition.” Based on the theme, “A Spectrum of…” Getty received more than 2,800 submissions from teenagers residing in 134 cities throughout California, all of which underwent a thorough review and consideration process. Twenty-five winning photographers were selected by a panel of judges, and include two works from San Diego teens.   • James P. Connolly has appeared on Netflix, "America’s Got Talent," "Dry Bar Comedy," and can be heard daily on SiriusXM Comedy. He attended Harvard University on a Marine Corps ROTC Scholarship and while serving in Desert Storm was ordered to write jokes for his Colonel. Arriving in Hollywood, James began to perform at LA’s major comedy venues and soon popped up on television, commercials, and in small films. James brings his 25+ years in comedy to the OTC for a night of Stand Up, so come on out for laughs with JPC and some of SD finest comics! Tuesday July 16 at 4:30 p.m. at the San Diego Central Library (Downtown) Neil Morgan Library Auditorium, 330 Park Blvd., San Diego. "The Truth About Reading" looks at the illiteracy problem in America, highlighting people who learned to read as adults, and sharing proposed solutions for working towards a future where every child learns to read proficiently.
