This week of Summer Camp is all about learning to weave! Does your child have an interest in fiber arts and learning to weave? This ancient craft connects all ages with its range of options, from simple to complex. In this week-long camp, kids will explore the art & craft of weaving on a variety of looms. Using the principles of STEAM while honing fine motor skills and problem-solving, kids & teens will: -Learn about different fiber properties -Make and use a variety of looms to weave on -Design patterns and explore color palettes -Explore their own styles -And actively do math with hands-on creative weaving! This camp is recommended for kids and teens, ages 8-16 years. OPTIONAL | Lunch Hour Supervision If there is a camp ending as ours begins and you need your child or teen transferred, let us know! If you’d like your child or teen to stay during the lunch hour, there’s a $25 fee for the week to cover the lunchtime gap. They can bring a lunch and have lunch with us with the option to craft after lunch, or head out to grab a lunch and head back to the studio to eat in a safe, welcoming space. The City of Oceanside Parks and Recreation Department will host an incredible fireworks display on Monday, July 3, 2023, in celebration of the 135th anniversary of the City’s incorporation. Fireworks will begin at 9 p.m. in the heart of Oceanside at the SoCal Soccer Complex at El Corazon (3300 El Corazon Drive). Public transportation is encouraged and the Rancho Del Oro Sprinter Station is nearby. Parking will be available at the SoCal Soccer lot for $12 per car and SoCal parking lot entry gates close at 8:30 p.m. Free parking will be available at the nearby Ocean Ranch Business Park. RV’s and buses will not be permitted. Gates to the event open at 5 p.m. Bring a beach chair or blanket to sit on and enjoy a spectacular show at this free, family-friendly event. Sorry, no alcohol or dogs are permitted. As a reminder, personal use of consumer fireworks are illegal in the City of Oceanside, leave it to the professionals!

Hospitality is the bridge that forges connections – each custom unique, yet the act of inviting others to join for a beverage, a universal language. This exhibition is presented in collaboration with The House of Pacific Relations, a consortium of houses located in Balboa Park representing 31 cultures – bringing various cultural groups together to foster and cultivate a spirit of understanding, tolerance, and goodwill.
