The pieces aim to capture the essence of the local wildlife and landscapes that make our region unique. Deeply influenced by Matisse and Monet, Natasha loves bright colors and expresses joie de vivre in all her pieces. Natasha’s work is a testimony to Nature's enduring power and resilience. “I hope to inspire viewers to take a closer look at the incredible diversity of life that exists right here in our backyard. By showcasing the beauty of our local landscapes and wildlife, I aim to foster a greater sense of appreciation and stewardship for our beautiful neighborhood.” The show opens on September 1 and closes on September 15 Held in conjunction with featured artist exhibits by Sneha Craig and Deanne Tiffany Multi-artist reception, Saturday, September 9 at 4:30 – 6:00 p.m.
  • Choose from 2 dates: August 13 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. September 30 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Learn to make a basket made from long leaf pine needles, using waxed Irish linen, an assortment of beads or other embellishments, starting with a stone center. Topics to be covered include the differences between pine needle types, preparing the needles, waxed Irish linen, basket centers, embellishing your basket, and how to start and how to finish your basket. Students have the option to weave a basket, a pendant, or an ornament. Basket Weaving is a wonderful way to recycle from nature and is also a meditative activity. No experience necessary.   • Beautiful and functional, this Macrame Shelf Wall Hanging is a great way to add texture to your space and also display your favorite nicknacks! This beginner-friendly workshop will teach you several different macrame knots and also help develop your knotting skills. Finished shelf and hanging dimensions are approximately 12 inches wide by 36 inches in length. All supplies and materials are included. Nicknacks in photo are not included.   • Investigate the American turkey’s surprising presence in European art. Learn more about the bird through turkey calling techniques. This noisy show at the UC San Diego Library has become a community tradition. Kids are welcome (and they’ll be reciting turkey-related riddles). Presented as an old-time radio show, this celebration is filled with music, sound-effects, stories and facts of interest.
