"In Situ: La Jolla," presented by San Diego Art Directory as part of the Activated Spaces program, is a curated installation inside the two-story luxury showroom of Unscripted Spaces. Designed as fully realized modern apartments, the space offers a rare opportunity to experience artwork in context—where paintings, sculptures, textiles, and mixed-media pieces interact directly with architecture, light, and furniture. During the opening reception, enjoy live music, light bites, and drinks while exploring the exhibition and mingling with the artists. Co-insiding with the First Friday Art Walk The event coincides with La Jolla Village First Friday Art Walk, and an additional outdoor display will feature six participating artists, offering a street-level glimpse of the creativity happening inside. "In Situ: La Jolla" exhibition positions original artworks by San Diego artists within a living environment, highlighting how artists’ work can elevate and complete a space beyond traditional gallery walls. She has curated shows with leading local institutions including the Mingei International Museum, Sparks Gallery, and the San Diego International Airport, as well as alternative art spaces throughout the region. In addition to her curatorial practice, Blanca has served as a juror for both youth and adult art exhibitions at local galleries and museums, bringing a thoughtful and inclusive eye to the evaluation of diverse artistic voices. Brix Wines, an award-winning, couple-owned San Diego winery, is partnering with FMI, a San Diego-based wine club that hosts culinary and wine pop-up events across the city, to host a Chef Pop-Up with MabuHI at its flagship tasting room in the North City district in San Marcos. Taking place on Saturday, July 25 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., guests are invited to sip J. Brix's natural wines by the glass or bottle while enjoying chef-driven cuisine and live DJ sets in a relaxed indoor-outdoor setting. MabuHI, a food truck specializing in Filipino and Hawaiian cuisine, will serve a menu of pork BBQ, kalbi short ribs, chicken katsu and more, accompanied by DJ sets from Brayisme and Hundo.
