  • “The only thing more powerful than hate is love.” Join us for a weekly gathering rooted in stillness, compassion, and creative expression. Each session begins with a gentle metta (loving-kindness) meditation, guiding us inward to cultivate peace, for ourselves and for the heavy world around us. From that grounded place, we’ll move into a writing prompt designed to open the heart, quiet the mind, and give voice to what longs to be written. This is a space for writers of all levels, meditators and non-meditators alike. Come as you are. Write what arises. Share if you wish. Proceeds from this weekly class will go to vulnerable local families being targeted by ICE. The TIAS, Take Inspired Action Siempre, extend care and support to the vulnerable and at-risk in Solana Beach and Encinitas during this assault on our immigrant communities. The TIAS mission is to build stronger, safer, and more inclusive communities by providing those in need with what they need, when they need it. Let’s gather in the spirit of peace. • Join us for the opening of "Faith Ringgold: Full Circle–The Teachings and Her Legacy"! Faith Ringgold is a Professor Emerita of the Department of Visual Arts at UC San Diego. Spanning nearly five decades of artistic production, "Full Circle—The Teachings and Her Legacy" is a comprehensive examination of Faith Ringgold’s multidisciplinary practice. Born in Harlem in 1930, Ringgold emerged from the Black Arts Movement and became a pioneering voice in American art through her integration of autobiography, social and political activism, and techniques traditionally associated with women’s craft. The exhibition is framed conceptually through Ringgold’s relationship to UC San Diego, where she served as professor of visual arts from 1984 to 2002. This institutional affiliation provides a lens for understanding how her academic philosophy materialized throughout her practice and impacted not only those she mentored at UC San Diego, but generations of artists around the world.
