Learn about the science behind the engine and why manufactures made the switch from steam power to diesel, as well as the emergence of diesel locomotives on railroads close to San Diego, such as the Southern Pacific Railroad and the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad (ATSF). This workshop is designed for individuals interested in learning the art of lettering. We will start the class by learning basic lettering principles and utilize Posca pens to learn 2 different lettering styles: sans serif and script. By the end of the workshop, you will have the chance to personalize your own journal cover, applying the techniques learned throughout the session. ArtWalk Liberty Station is back for its 19th year, bringing a weekend-long celebration of arts and culture to San Diego’s Liberty Station, August 3-4. The festival celebrates creativity from both sides of the border, with more than 175 artists coming from across several states and Mexico to show and sell their artwork, including paintings, photography, glass and ceramics, jewelry, and sculpture. For families, there will also be a KidsWalk hands-on art experience within the event, with a variety of kids activities. The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, and 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, August 4. ArtWalk Liberty Station is located at 2751 Dewey Road.
