  • Curated and led by Alila Marea Beach Resort’s Resident Certified Catador Chris Simmons, the Agave Dinner Series is a collection of seaside pairing dinners that explore the diverse range of spirits crafted from the agave plant. The 2022 series wraps up on November 3 with Fortaleza Tequila and a wanderlust-inducing five-course dinner by VAGA Chef de Cuisine Mark Enciso. Sip, savor and sway to live music – all on the open-air Oceana Terrance overlooking the Pacific. Tickets include welcome cocktails, a five-course dinner and tequila pairings. Take-home bottles will be available for purchase. Must be 21+ to attend. Though Fortaleza Tequila itself was established in 2005, the founding family has more than 140 years of history engrained in the origins of tequila. Great-great-granddaughter Don Cenobio was the first person to export tequila to the U.S. in the late 1800s, as well as a pioneer of the steam cooking method and usage of blue agave over other varieties. On this foundation built by the forward-thinking pioneers of the industry, Fortaleza Tequila now focuses on the past, using artisanal methods, old-world equipment and a slow, small-batch approach to craft authentic tequila.
