The free, two-day community event features 30+ makers, healers, and artists – from ceramists, jewelers, and visual artists to herbalists, tarot readers, energy workers, and culinary creators – whose work reflects ancestral wisdom, decolonial practices, and spiritual connection. The Bakla Collective will also be featured, showcasing Queer Filipinx creators and centering equity and representation within San Diego’s creative community. Enjoy live performances, a Sunday workshop lineup – including Intro to Mediumship, Zero-Waste Candle Making, and Yoga + Sound: Collective Healing – and Kamayan by Kujo Eats (Sunday, 5-7 p.m.). Kamayan, meaning "by hand" in Tagalog, is a traditional communal feast where guests share food with their hands, scooping rice and dishes on a table lined with banana leaves. KPBS spoke with Corey Gustafson and Kyle Krahel-Frolander of the San Diego Republican and Democratic parties respectively to get their take on President Trump’s first four months in office.

On October 22, 2025, pianist Aleck Karis and Susan Narucki will be presenting a concert of songs for soprano and piano, ranging from the late Romantic music of French composer Cécile Chaminade to a relatively recent song cycle written by the American composer Allen Anderson. They will also be performing early twentieth century works with lush harmonies - rarely-heard songs by Alexander Zemlinsky and Anton Webern. In addition, Aleck Karis will be performing two short works for solo piano, one by Ravel and one by Poulenc, which will serve as a beautiful connecting thread. "What I believe is magical about hearing classical art songs is that the audience hears great poetry come to life through the composer's imagination and our response to it, as performers. As a singer, I am fascinated by the seemingly endless range of emotional expression that I find within this intimate art form, and sharing that with audiences is my life's joy. We also utilize supertitles to create more immediacy for the listener. This exhibition will explore art that has emerged from the surf-culture lifestyle and surfing’s influence on artists. Everyone who has experienced the feeling of riding a wave understands just how hard it is to describe that incredible sensation, referred to as “stoke”. It seems that only through creative self-expression can surfer-artists capture the essence of stoke and the inspiration that can be found between the surfer and the wave. Artists who surf may take this creative energy in many directions and may explore subjects outside of surfing and surf culture. This joint exhibition will feature a variety of media, from traditional art making methods to works in resin, murals, surfboards, graphic art, sculpture, or fabric, all with the goal to convey the creative power that all artists experience, on or off the wave.
